Sonya Gonzales is the author of numerous children’s books, including “I Love Music Too” and “Cat in the Grass.” One of her books was purchased by the San Antonio Public Library System. She is an artist who also has experience as a speech therapist in the public school system, writing grants for 35 years for arts and humane services nonprofit organizations, and teaching violin and art to children and adults. Sonya has been painting for over 20 years and has been locally and nationally featured. Her book “I Love Music Too” is based on her personal experiences playing and teaching the violin. Sonya’s motivation for writing this story was to express her gratitude to her father who showed her the importance and beauty of music in my life. Also, she wanted to share her wonderful, diverse experiences learning and playing the violin, in order to encourage children and their parents to go in the same direction. This story has music to play and read alongside the words of the book, written for violin or other treble clef instruments.
